Instead I’ve been running errands all day, shopping for a birthday gift and cleaning the house.

I own a number of prints from the wonder duo that is Kozyndan, but damn, pricing matted frames for the two prints displayed above has been a depressing experience.
Their panoramic dimensions makes it a costly endeavour, which means both have been sitting in their post tube for a long time now.

The jeweller inquired, ‘Would you like your girlfriend’s name engraved on it?’
Roger thought for a moment, grinned, then answered, ‘No, instead engrave “To my one and only love”.’
The jeweller smiled and said, ‘Yes, sir; how very romantic of you.’
Roger retorted with a glint in his eye, ‘Not exactly romantic, but very practical. This way, if we break up, I can use it again.’

Wired magazine is running a new ‘artfacts from the future’ series, and this first one – the future of coffee – is probably the most horrifying thing I can imagine.
Caffeinate while you can. In the mid-21st century, rising global temperatures have endangered Coffea Arabica in its indigenous habitats, giving rise to geographically distributed stockpiles and hardier mutant strains.
I’ve read a lot of books in my life, but not many of the ones on Gear Patrol’s 100 Essential Reads: The Definitive Men’s Library list.
Now I know why I’m not a real man… well, I guess I’ll be locking myself away for a while.
Ah well, at leave I’ve seen The Count of Monte Cristo. That’s got to count for something.
(In fairness to myself, I’ve actually read 11 of the books on this list.)
