datsun bre bicycle eric caprin 01

This is wild. Indonesian revhead and designer Eric Caprin has rolled out a new concept that transforms a Japanese Sanki bike into a would-be BRE Datsun racer.

Inspired by the Brock Racing Enterprises track cars of the 70s, Caprin’s frame wears the same blue, white and red colourway worn by the BRE Datsun 510 coupes.

There’s BRE Datsun graphics on the down tube, a classic Datsun graphic on the top tube and even a Datsun head badge.

Perhaps even more insane is the pair of custom-made wheels emblazoned with the logo of the Work Wheels brand.

CASIS x Shepard Fairey. There’s a pairing I never thought I’d see.

Prolific designer and street artist Shepard Fairey – famous for his ‘OBEY’ work and Barack Obama’s ‘Hope’ posters – has unveiled his official design for the patch of a new project on the International Space Station.

The project, managed by Centre for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS), is called ARK1, or Advancing Research Knowledge 1.

The patch will be worn by space workers (astronauts, cosmonauts, what-have-you) involved with the project, which will run from September this year, through to March 2014.

“It’s a really special thing. I’m just flattered and honored that I could create something that becomes just a small symbol of how things can move forward. The excitement of the unknown. To be part of that, is really a cool thing,” Fairey said of the project.

“I just peed a little, seeing the work of a favourite artist paired with the sheer bonkers awesomeness of space science,” Doshio said.

Art: Agata Nowicka

Polish artist Agata Nowicka has been at it since 2001, crunching a combination of rough video game-like pixels and smooth lines for magazines including The New Yorker, New York Times and Elle.

Photography: #FollowMeTo…

Russian photographer Murad Osmann puts a new spin on travel photography, showing us the world as his lady drags him through it.

Osmann has been posting photos on Instagram from each country he and his partner visit, her taking his hand as they venture forth.

Top idea. The Daily Mail has all the photos shared thus far, and there’s a few more after the break. Continue Reading…

All I wanted to do today was stay in and finish this illustration, which I’ve been working on as a header piece for this blog.

Instead I’ve been running errands all day, shopping for a birthday gift and cleaning the house.

Soon, doshio, soon.
