There’s a new trailer in town, this time revealing new scenes from Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and, more importantly, a preview of its tunes.

Fans of Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet know the man can collect a sharp soundtrack. Beyoncé, André 3000, Florence and the Machine. Oh and Lana Del Rey, but whatever.

In all, between the sound and the sight, I don’t know which I’m looking forward to more.

Director Danny Boyle has a new fantastical thriller en route to theatres: Trance.

The man comfortably figures among my favourite directors, and the cast of Trance is incredible.

Hell if I can get my head around the trailer, but it does look properly mental. Sign me up.


Trailer No.2 for Oblivion.

I want to hate Tom Cruise, and thankfully most of what he does is bad enough that it’s no great challenge.

But I’m a fool for sci-fi, and just as I loved Minority Report, I’m deathly concerned I’m also going to love Oblivion.


Studio Ghibli: From Up on Poppy Hill

Here’s the trailer for a new bit from “Japan’s Disney”, Studio Ghibli.

Although, for my money, Disney could just as easily be called “America’s Ghibli”.

The English ‘dub’ includes voice work from Christina Hendricks, Aubrey Plaza, Ron Howard, Gillian Anderson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bruce Dern, Chris Noth, and Anton Yelchin. Continue Reading…
