DAFT PUNK – GET LUCKY

The first track from Daft Punk’s new album Random Access Memories is upon us: Get Lucky, featuring Pharrell.

Call it a return to form.

And listen, keep the video in focus, because at 2m21s, the figures in that ‘still image’ become animated, groovin’ away.

There’s a new trailer in town, this time revealing new scenes from Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby and, more importantly, a preview of its tunes.

Fans of Luhrmann’s Romeo & Juliet know the man can collect a sharp soundtrack. Beyoncé, André 3000, Florence and the Machine. Oh and Lana Del Rey, but whatever.

In all, between the sound and the sight, I don’t know which I’m looking forward to more.

Cinemas, May 10.

Video: Calvin and Hobbes, Animated. By Adam Brown.

The series that never happened but absolutely should have, and totally still could.

Video: Insane Office Escape 2.

This is intense. Get me that water-powered teleportation fuse now.

Biting Elbows’ awesome sequel to the crazy Insane Office Escape clip release in 2011.

Funny thing is, we’ve always had the technology and materials for producing garments that can maintain a good condition for 10 years or more, but where would big business be without planned obsolescence?

Director Danny Boyle has a new fantastical thriller en route to theatres: Trance.

The man comfortably figures among my favourite directors, and the cast of Trance is incredible.

Hell if I can get my head around the trailer, but it does look properly mental. Sign me up.

A cute b-side (of a sort) from The Lumineers, titled simply Untitled. Because why bother.

Video: High Maintenance.

Loving this series of short comedy clips that revolve around a loosely connected group of urbanite stoners, brought together through their shared dope delivery guy.

Here’s a brand-new trailer for JJ Abrams’ upcoming Star Trek sequel, Into Darkness. I’ve done the math, and I can confirm I am mad looking forward to this.

Loved Abrams’ first Trek film. Obviously a major departure from the regular TV series’ and films, but his take on the franchise has opened it up to millions of potential fans, giving them a new ‘jumping on’ point. That can only be a good thing.

Star Trek Into Darkness hits Australian cinemas on May 16 (one day before the US).

I’ve never heard of Hanni El Khatib, but this track is fun as hell.

Better still is the video, which features a crazy nude Japanese motorcycle gang and their gals.

I don’t know how you can get better than that, but someone’s bound to try. I’ll be ready for them.

Hey babe with the Tokyo plates, where ya headed?
